Before you begin, make sure your computer is set to view all files, and not hiding anything. Go HERE for a walk through.
Start the computer in safe mode command prompt by hitting F8 before
Windows starts.
Wait patiently for windows to start.
When it asks you to login, login as the user you just set to view all files, as above, or you will not be able to see everything you need to get rid of.
You will arrive at a command prompt. Type exit, and hit enter:

Hit ctrl-alt-del, your control alt and delete keys at the same time.
You will get the windows task manager.
Go to file / new task:

Go to browse:

In the bottom, where it says files of type, choose "all files"

Browse to c:\windows

Change the view to details:

Right click on isrvs, hold your shift key down and delete it. (holding
the shift key delete it directly, instead of sending it to the recycle
bin)

After deleting the directory, hit cancel until you're back to the task
manager.
Go to file / new task
type regedt32

go to khey_local_machine\software\currentversion\run
Delete all the keys referring to anything in the c:\windows\isrvs
folder by right clicking on each and choosing delete. Note I also have
another piece of shit in here (IST Service). This is a test machine, so
there are several pieces of shit to remove. I infected it intentionally
to do this howto. If you have the ist service, you'll want to get rid
of it too:-) But no, it's not part of isearch. (as far as I know)
:-)

Next, check khey_current_user\software\currentversion\run for anything
referring to it as well.
Exit regedit.
Back in task manager, go to file, run, browse for your spyware
removal
program of choice. Run it.to clean up the remnants. Spybot S&D does a pretty good job cleaning the rest of isearch.
Empty
the recycle bin.. Also it wouldn't hurt to run your antivirus program here too, just in case.
Ok, that should about do it for desktop search!
Have a nice day!
Did this help? Buy me a sixpack! Or help me buy some more bandwidth?
